Clear your subconscious patterns
Remove your programming and find the real you
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that utilises a state of hypnosis to access the subconscious mind, helping us to identifying limiting beliefs, outdated survival strategies and supressed emotions that prevent us from leading the life that we want.
A hypnotherapist guides a person into a deep state of relaxation using focused attention. Once a person is in this state of hypnosis they can access their deeper traumas, beliefs, blockages, programming and supressed emotions in order to transform and heal them.
The key word here is ‘guide”. People do not lose consciousness and hand over their free will to the hypnotherapist rather they observe with their conscious mind the work that is being done by the subconscious and they continue to have free will to explore or not explore all aspects of issues arising from the subconscious.
How does it work?
Our subconscious minds are incredible, and they collect and retain all of your experiences, perceptions, memories, beliefs, supressed emotions and strategies that you have used to survive in the past. The subconscious mind is the part that runs on autopilot and not in awareness. It is basically a recording device that gathers data through all of your sensory organs and gives shortcuts or programs to the conscious mind to play out. When the conscious mind becomes too overloaded and stressed out to think logically and analyse, the subconscious mind kicks in and plays out old programs to keep you safe (usually putting you into a state of fight/flight/freeze)
By going into a state of hypnosis, you are allowing the facilitation of communication between the subconscious and the conscious mind. Many subconscious programs are developed in childhood and by brining them to the awareness of the conscious mind we can help to alleviate or resolve different issues arising in your life.
As the subconscious mind remembers everything, hypnotherapy can be used to help guide you through unprocessed and unresolved traumas, emotions, events, problems, bad habits freeing you from programs you no longer wish to continue you in your present life.
How can having hypnotherapy benefit you?
Hypnotherapy gives you tools to become the master of your own mind. It is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress and help you enter into a calm and relaxed state. As we are utilising all the experience and memories stored in the subconscious mind, we can gain insight into what is holding us back and why. Hypnotherapy can assist you with:
- transforming deep-seated patterns, behaviours and emotions
- changing patterns stored in your subconscious mind
- a range of physical and psychological issues
- It can assist with:
- reducing stress
- resolving sickness
- unresolved past traumas
- feelings of unworthiness or low self esteem
- unwanted habits such as nail biting, smoking
- weight-loss
- insomnia
- chronic pain
- unresolved trauma
- phobias and fears
- poor memory
- addictions
- anxiety and depression
What will you experience in a session?
Hypnosis helps to create a deep state of relaxation where you become aware of many things at once whilst being able to maintain a focus on one point of attention. If you come to a session with a particular goal, for example wanting to address a fear, we would talk about how this fear presents itself in your life, how it’s holding you back and the outcome you would like. I would ask you some questions to help clarify my understanding of your issue. Then slowly and only when you are ready, I would guide you into a state of relaxation and calm to then help facilitate the communication between your subconscious mind and your conscious mind.
This communication can take place in the form of memories, feelings, images, metaphors, smells, sounds, messages or clearly worded messages. Throughout the session I ask you questions, and you respond – you are always aware of what is going on and will not be made to do anything you do not want to. You are in control at all times.
We communicate with the subconscious mind and help to make any changes that you are ready and willing to make. After we have made the changes, I help to bring you back to a fully awakened state where we can discuss and debrief any of the experiences you had during the session.
How do you differ from other hypnotherapists – why should I come to you?
I have a great belief that all the answers you need to any problem or issue you face lay within you and I am simply here as a guide to help you find those answers. The type of hypnosis I use is called transpersonal hypnotherapy and is centred on the person receiving hypnosis with an understanding that the person has all the answers within them to whatever issue they are facing. I am just here to guide them to their own innate wisdom.
Having had my own experience of childhood trauma, depression and complex PTSD I have sat in the seat of the client and I understand the courage it takes to work through painful issues. I know what it is like to be in pain and hurting and I believe that gives me a unique perspective to help a person move through their issues whilst holding them in a space of unconditional love and care.
